Short Bio
Alena is a Lecturer in Accounting at RMIT University. Alena combines her interdisciplinary background in business and linguistics to transform the accounting discipline, profession and education. Alena’s research spans across performance management, accounting education, accounting ethics, accounting history and accounting professionalisation. Alena is aiming to revolutionize accounting discipline by working at the margins of sociology, linguistics, philosophy, history, economics and management.
Alena’s research has been presented at international conferences including Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting, European Accounting Association Congress, APIRA and Management Accounting Research Group Conference. Alena has published in journals including The British Accounting Review, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Accounting Education.
