In the Ethics and Education SIG workshop the group discussed the challenges and processes needed to frame and develop content to teach ethical blindness to tertiary students. We started with defining the concept, exploring the barriers, and finished with an ideation phase. A great starting point for further chats at ABEN’s annual conference.

Ethical Blindness entails a lack of awareness of ethically relevant information and hence the motivation to act on it (Langer & Smith, 2025).

The concept of ‘Ethical Blindness’ is critical; it highlights that awareness is the prerequisite for moral action. This resonates across fields, from AI development to risk management. Understanding these cognitive biases is key to building ethical frameworks, whether in education or in assessing the risks of complex digital engagement, such as playing a scatter link game. Excellent discussion!

Interesting points about adapting gaming to local preferences! It’s smart to see platforms like jolibet apk focusing on the Filipino market with convenient options & security. Responsible gaming is key, too! 👍
